SUCCESSION CERTIFICATE IN PAKISTAN

When a person dies leaving behind him any property or bank balance or movable asset, then the legal heirs of such deceased have the right to claim their share of the deceased’s property. The legal heirs can claim this right through a succession certificate in Pakistan. To obtain this document, they have to prove that they are the legal heirs of the deceased and that law legally entitles them to inherit it. The legal heirs have to process their succession certificate procedure in Pakistan. Once the process is finalized, the legal heirs will be issued the certificate.  

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESSION CERTIFICATE IN PAKISTAN

The documents required for a succession certificate in Pakistan are as follows.

WHEN DOES NADRA ISSUE A SUCCESSION CERTIFICATE?

The NADRA office issues the certificate when all the following conditions are fulfilled.

  • When all the legal heirs are above eighteen years, and they have valid ID cards
  • When all the legal heirs are in Pakistan
  • When all the legal heirs are present in the NADRA office for biometric verifications.
  • When there is no dispute between the legal heirs.

WHEN DOES THE COURT ISSUE A SUCCESSION CERTIFICATE?

The court issues the succession certificate in Pakistan when any of the following conditions exist.

  • When any of the legal heirs is below 18 years and does not have an ID card
  • When any one of the legal heirs is not in Pakistan
  • When any one of the legal heirs is missing in the Nadra office for the biometric verification
  • When there is a dispute between any of the legal heirs.
  • When the Nadra issues a decline certificate.

SUCCESSION CERTIFICATE PROCEDURE IN PAKISTAN

The succession certificate procedure in Pakistan is different for the Nadra office and for the court. If you are applying for the certificate in the Nadra office, then all the legal heirs have to be present in the Nadra office along with the required documents. They just have to submit the documents to the Nadra office, and the nadra will do the rest of the work. In case there is no objection, the NADRA will issue the certificate.  In case you are applying for the certificate through the court, then you have to contact a lawyer and provide him with all the relevant information and documents, and he will get you the certificate from the court.
