Ø VISIT NADRA OFFICE:
If you have obtained your divorce certificate in Pakistan and want to confirm if your marital status is updated as divorced or married, then the very first method is to personally visit the Nadra office and ask them if your status is still showing as married or divorced. They will put your CNIC number in the system and will check your marital record and update you on the status.
Ø SMS AT 8009:
If you have obtained the divorce certificate and want to check if your wife is still in your family tree or not, then you can SMS your ID card at 8009. Once you SMS your CNIC number in reply, you will get a message with all your family members. If in the SMS reply, you still see your wife as your family member, then it means that your record is not yet updated. In order to update the record, you have to take your divorce and marriage certificates to the Nadra office in Pakistan, and they will update the record of your divorce in Pakistan.
Ø FRC:
You can apply for your FRC (Family Registration Certificate). After the divorce, if you still see your ex-wife in your FRC, it means that on the back end, she is still active as your wife. In order to update the status, you have to personally visit the Nadra office. You can obtain your FRC from the NADRA office or from your Pak ID app.
Ø CHECK PAK ID APP:
In the Pak ID app, you can check all your family members. If your ex-wife is still shown as your wife or family member, then you can upload your divorce certificate on the app and create a request to update it.
